Add a New Bank Account

Step-by-step guide to creating a new bank account in Access Education Finance.

To set up a new bank account in Access Education Finance, you need to create a new ledger code and mark it as a bank account. You can also optionally configure a payment type, or convert an existing ledger code to a bank account.

Create a new bank account ledger code

  1. Go to Codes.

  2. Click Chart of Accounts.

  3. Select Ledger Codes.

  4. Click the plus icon to add a new ledger code.

  5. Fill in the required details.

  6. Select the box for Bank Account.

  7. Click Save.


Set up a payment type for the bank account (optional)

If you would like to assign a payment type to the new bank account:

  1. Go to System Setup.

  2. Select Defaults.

  3. Select Bank Account.

  4. Expand the new ledger code.

  5. Select a Payment Type from Manual Cheque, Printed Cheque, and/or BACS.

Convert an existing ledger code to a bank account

If you already have a ledger code that you would like to change to a bank account type:

  1. Go to Codes.

  2. Click Chart of Accounts.

  3. Select Ledger Codes.

  4. Search for the ledger code.

  5. Select the box next to the ledger code.

  6. Go to Actions.

  7. Select Set as a Bank Account.
