When importing the budget from Access Education Budgets into Finance this error message appears:

Coding: Update cannot proceed

It is not possible to update the budget as one or more budget lines or Job Types used by Contracts in the source Scenario are not coded. Please correct this in Access Education Budgets before continuing.

If you receive an alert when attempting to export a scenario into the accounting software and there are uncoded budget lines the best report to produce is the Income and Expenditure Detailed report.

To export this:

  1. In Scenario Menu, select Reporting Module.

  2. Select the Financial Reports tab then select Income and Expenditure Detailed report.

  3. Click Launch then click on the Account Code tab.

  4. Select the boxes for the account codes:

  • Cost Centre

  • Ledger Code

  • Fund Code

  1. Click the Options tab then clear the Exclude Zero Lines box.

  2. Click Update.

The report produces features for every budget line of the scenario and all linked codes.

Any blank fields in this report indicate missing codes, which are impeding the export process to the Finance software. You need to code these lines in the relevant section of the budget.
